I just wanted to drop a note and tell you guys thank you so much for helping make our building experience awesome. We loved all the vendors and we loved working with ALL of you and making our Dream House a reality! :-) Of course, with Lacey, my sister she's great! She helped us with everything to make it goes smooth as possible. Even took late night texts from my husband and answered any questions we had. If she didn't have the answer she got right back to us with the answer.

The general on the project, Steve Ankenbruck was a gem!!!! He answered all the questions we had he always called, texted or emailed us back right away. He was very attentive and made sure that everything he did was perfect and exactly what we wanted. He visited the house quite a bit to make sure that everything was going how we wanted it.  Sometimes we weren't able to be there, it was nice to know that he was checking up on it. He also kept up on all of the vendors and informed us when they were coming before and even after we moved in. With Kyle and I doing some of the work ourselves, he made sure to inform us right away when we needed to complete our task, which was a big help to us because it made things go smoother. In my line of work I know customer service is very important. He has wonderful customer service skills and was a pleasure to work with.

After realizing this summer that our present home was getting too much for us, we contacted Lani about listing our home.  We were aware of the North park housing development but were not familiar with the newer homes that were built by Ideal Suburban Homes.

In talking with Lani, we became quite interested and after thinking of our options, we decided to pursue the idea of building a home that would be handicap accessible, making life easier in our everyday living.

The decision was made and the floor plan was picked out.  In July, we had our pre-construction meeting with Michele and Shannon, to pick out everything needed to get the build started.  These two people made the process so much easier and very much appreciated.

Things started taking off; we were very excited to see the foundation poured and before you know it, framing started and then the rest followed.

Gerald and I cannot say enough on the way things were handled by the whole organization.  Everything has gone smoothly and the people of Ideal were the easiest to work with.  Thank you doesn't seem like enough to say but that's what we want to say.

Building a home long distance was a stressful decision but turned out be  the perfect solution for us.  We met with the Ideal team and picked out everything before we left.  I expected to return if problems occurred but they never did.  Every question was answered by e-mail or phone.

We found out in April that our Son wanted to buy our house and business. We knew we had to be out of our house in 7 months. We did not want to have to move twice, so we decided to have Ideal Homes, build us a house. Our Daughter had bought an Ideal spec home about 3 years ago and we really liked it, so we knew what kind of a home we were going to get.

I contacted Lacey Caffee and she was really quick on showing us the different styles of homes that they could build us. I guess before I get too far into the review, I should say that thru the whole process, we dealt with 3 people. Lacey Caffee, who was our sales person. Jeff Gregg, who was the head of the building crew and Kim Davis, who is the head of everyone. All 3 of these people were very kind, friendly and very professional. We did not have any problems along the way. They would bend over backwards to help us when we needed. I asked them if it was possible for us to be ready to move in by Dec 1. They said no problem. They never broke ground until July 11th. I was a bit nervous, but I just trusted them. We ended up getting the keys to the house 2 weeks early!! That was the BEST Thanksgiving gift we could ever ask for. We moved in right before Thanksgiving.

We are very happy with our new home and if I ever build a new house, I would build with them. I travel out of the country a lot and during the construction, I was out of town for 2 months. My family could not believe I was building a new house, and I was not even around. With Ideal Homes, when you pick everything out, you just get out of their way and they make everything happen. They did not have any questions about anything. I always dreaded building a new home, because the friends I know that have built say, it’s a lot of time and stress. Not the case with Ideal Homes. Pick everything out and then you can even leave town.

We are very happy with our new home and we would recommend anyone thinking of building a new home, to contact Lacey Caffee, and believe you me, she will take it from there. Kent & Kim

Ron, Bob, Rob and the office staff at Bee Gee Realty in Van Wert were very friendly and helpful in getting us started on our journey. 

Your website was easy to maneuver and find the necessary information regarding the floor plans, upgrades and standard items, what brands were used in the house, etc. Everything was spelled out very clearly.

Michele's help and expertise was invaluable, as was her knowledge of the home building process. She was very prompt in answering our emails and phone calls giving us the information or answers usually the same day! Shannon's knowledge of the computer and his ability to tweak our changes was amazing and helped us in visualizing what we wanted!  The showroom in Decatur was set up with all our choices and made our decisions considerably easier. Both Michele and Shannon were very patient with us at all times!

Once the actual building started, Jason's help was spot on and amazing! The equipment, materials and crews were on site when they were scheduled and all of them worked very efficiently! He also answered our phone calls and questions promptly!

We have lived in our new home for two months and are very happy here. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and positive experience! Thanks again to the "Ideal Team"! You will never be forgotten!

In January of 2016, I began the hunt for the perfect home in the perfect area.  After several months of searching I felt I had possibly found it!  However the realtor that I was working with was also representing the seller of my “perfect home” and the experience quickly made a turn for the worst. 

That is when I made contact with Danielle Genth from Minear Realty.  Danielle was listed as the realtor with Ideal Suburban Homes in the Summerset Ridge edition.  I first reached out to Danielle just to see what the cost of building that same perfect house would be. Much to my surprise the cost difference from the 10 year old house I had made an offer on and the brand new build was not that much different!  I then set up a meeting with Danielle to start the process of building my new home.

As a first time home owner I could not have asked for a better realtor than Danielle.  She was so helpful, upbeat, and patient with me and my crazy work schedule.  Danielle was quick to respond and always pure joy to work with.  From the first meeting with Danielle I knew it was meant to be! All my frustration with my previous realtor that had made me feel like I was never going to find the perfect home were gone. Danielle sat down explained everything and gave me the peace of mind that I needed. 

I have now been in my new Ideal home for about a month and love it!  It truly is my perfect home!  I was so blessed to meet and work with Danielle and Ideal Suburban Homes.  I would recommend working with Danielle to all my family and friends.

Our experience with Ideal has been a good one.  Deb Stoebe has seen us through the planning, construction and moving in phases of our Villa.  We feel she is a real asset to Ideal.  She is friendly, knowledgeable and above all, patient.
Repairs were reported and fixed to our satisfaction.  Due to the extremely wet weather in June and the hot, sunny dry July, our lawn has failed to thrive, but we have hopes for a better lawn next year!

We were fortunate enough to stumble upon our current home through our realtor, Lani Marshall. There wasn't much convincing needed, it was and is a beautiful home. For a young family such as ourselves, we have just about everything we need in the home.
The rooms are all good-sized and we love our walk-in closet in the master bedroom. We also have taken advantage of the options in our kitchen as we love to cook and entertain.
The home is in a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood which is clean and safe.
The buying process was simple enough, as much as home buying can be. We didn't deal directly with IDEAL that often because the home was a model home, so most of the work was done before we moved in. We did change some of the fixtures and furnishings upon purchase, which we worked into the deal without much trouble.
Our realtor walked us through the process fairly and with us in mind first, not the sale being top priority.
We are happy with our purchase, and after a couple years in the home, have put some of our touches on the home to really have that at-home feel in every room of the home, and outside as well.

We would give our highest recommendation to Deb for our experience in buying the home in Paths of Deerfield.  There have been many frustrations connected with this process, but they were all associated with the sale of our existing home.   Deb never treated us in less than a professional manner.   I know from experience it’s very hard to find a ‘go to’ person you can trust to follow up on the smallest of details.  When you do they are invaluable.  Deb is that person and our opinion is Ideal is lucky to have her.

My wife and I really love our new Ideal villa in Eagle Glen! 

It is a quality built and energy efficient home.  The floor plan is perfect for us and the home has so many upgraded features that homes in my price range don’t have like rounded drywall corners, a 95% high efficiency Trane HVAC system, all OSB frame and house wrap on the entire house. 

We have lived here for 7 months now and we are totally satisfied with everything. The buying process was very satisfying with both Ideal and Minear Real Estate.  Brad Minear and his whole team were very easy and pleasant to do business with.

Hey friend, if you’re considering building a new home soon, we would like to share our journey with you. We have been living in our new home built by Ideal Homes, for about 6 weeks. Our home was always kept on schedule and after 3 ½ months, we moved in. When we started looking for a builder, we wanted quality craftsmanship, an affordable floor plan, and a builder who’s well established with integrity. We’ve owned several older homes throughout the years and this is our 3rd new one. We felt very confident with Ideal’s Builder Representative, Allen Felt. His 50 years of knowledge and experience made it easier to choose the perfect home for us. We were very impressed with the team concept they use to develop all the construction plants, it allowed us to tap into their skilled group knowledge. We were equally impressed with their financial coordinator, Kim Davis. It didn’t take us long to realize she was one of the key people to Ideal’s success. Her wonderful communication skills helped assure our confidence in Ideal’s commitment to making it easy to build and own an Ideal Home.

One burden we weren’t looking forward to was going to multi-locations to decide on all the accessories. Choosing Ideal solved that problem by offering a full array of products displayed at their office. Other builders gave us prices on a similar home, but they were about 30% higher. They also use multi sub-contractors, and we’ve found that the more sub-contractors, the less accountability, making it easier to play, pass the buck! In the past, some smaller companies have gone out of business and so there goes your warranty. We found it very easy to work with their experienced in-house designer Chuck Foehl, making all the desired changes to our plans. We used a few upgrade packages and chose better windows. We decided to install wood-stained doors and trim that added more elegance to our home and were well pleased with the look. Ideal’s job site supervisor, Jason Lockwood, was very knowledgeable and extremely easy to communicate with. He was very polite and attentive to our questions or problems during construction. All the building crews displayed high skill levels and their team workforce make it easy to make any changes or improvements during the construction stages as well. Ideal chose to use one mechanical contractor instead of multi and that makes it better to get something changed, or corrected if there’s a problem in the future, not to mention they worked well together on the job site.

Hi, my name is Glenn and my wife's name is Helga. I'd like to tell you a little story about our weekly Sunday afternoon rides. After church on Sundays my wife and I like to drive past Tiger's Retreat, a little villa addition that Ideal Construction is building in our community. On one of these afternoons I said to my wife, "Let's drive through." So we did and found that Ideal had built a villa with a loft, which they hadn't done there before, and my wife was excited. We checked out the model home, and then introduced ourselves to the sales rep, and I told her "I got to have me one of these."

We decided to build from scratch instead of buying one that was already built and for sale. We like the villas in our addition, but we wanted a lot of little changes that we thought would be convenient to our life style. This is when we met the design team: Chuck, Paul, Kim and Jason, who made us feel confident that the things that were important to us would be a priority. We had many discussions, many emails, and many drawings, but we finally hammered out what we thought might be the best villa Ideal ever built. And then the work began.
They excavated our lot, brought in gravel, put forms up and poured concrete. It was pretty cool to watch. But for us one of the nicest things was meeting all the different people who worked on our villa. There was something about going to our job site and seeing how many people it took to build our place--electricians, framers, siders, roofers, concrete workers, mechanical workers, finishing workers, painters, etc. By the time it was all over we were on a first name basis with almost everyone, and enjoyed their willingness to listen to our concerns.

My wife and I had never built a home before. We had no experience and really no idea of the process and we were unsure what to do. But Kim got involved and stayed involved with us and made our process probably one of the most fun things my wife and I have ever attempted together. We can't say enough about how much she helped us and made our experience a pleasant one.

On that last day, when our sales rep Deb met us and handed us the keys to our home and we walked through it, we realized something that just months before we didn't think could happen. We had a beautiful home and all our ideas had become reality. It was a fun and exciting experience. Everyone pitched in to make our home beautiful.

A big thanks to all the workers who helped in putting together our new house. It was a 3 year discussion on our part, figuring out how we wanted to build our new home. From the beginning, Deb was a huge help. From the start to the finish of the building process, they all did a fantastic job and we are very thankful for all the time and commitment they’ve put into our home. Anything that we found that was not to our liking, they happily took care of. We wanted it done by a certain time and they had it finished even before then. They were very helpful in every way to make us happy and they do outstanding work. We have now moved into our new home and are quite satisfied with what they have done.

Gary and Jody have made the adjustment well to villa living. Gary and Jody both like their brand new home. Jody commented that having many selections and color choices to choose from made the building process even more fun for her. The interior design is theirs, chosen and designed by them.

"We like being this close to town, but yet it is quiet here. Even with all the new construction going on, you can't hear it inside our home."

Gary and Jody's villa is a 1,556 square foot Traditions I with fireplace and sunroom.

"We have lots of room and found it no problem to scale down from our other home. Our daughter had just gotten married, and so she got a lot of our furniture and items we didn't need."

Gary and Jody are pleased with their decision to move to Tigers Retreat. They feel a sense of security with the neighbors looking our for each other and enjoy the peaceful neighborhood.

Their villa is a Traditions II with 1,432 square feet with a sunroom. Eric and Nancy have done many landscaping items of their choice but "having the exterior maintenance taken care of for you, truly frees up time to enjoy life and hobbies".

We really like the quietness and seclusion of the subdivision. We sit on the patio in the evening it is peaceful and relaxing, we enjoy our villa. Yes, it is close to town, but we still have seclusion and peacefulness. There isn’t anything we don’t like about or villa. She was a widow and her husband a widower until they met 12 years ago. Each had a farm near Fort Wayne and each sold after they viewed an open house at Bluffton where Evelyn showed them around. They liked the feel of the neighborhood both in winter and in summer. It’s friendly and the neighbors are nice to them.

The building experience was great because the builder did just like they said they would. They feel their experience at Sandalwood is unique because both lived on farms before. They like that it’s small, close to the grocery store and the dollar store.

They have three-wheeled bikes they ride every day and say it’s a nice place to ride. They take the side street and cross Hwy 1 and head to the trail where they ride 3 ½ miles every day! They can see the park from their house. The utility bills are reasonable. She say’s “it is wonderful living for us!” They feel the taxes are in line.

My wife and I have been self employed for some years and have always wanted to have a home of our own. Each time we tried, we were always told we didn’t qualify. Here recently, with the interest rates down and the government giving an $8,000- stimulus incentive, we thought we’d try again.

We contacted Ron Selking at Ideal and he said he was going to get us into a home of our own. He went through the procedure and was told we didn’t qualify, again. We told Ron thanks for trying and we appreciated all he did for us and he immediately replied ‘we don’t give up that easy. . . .you and your wife deserve a home of your own so we are going to try plan B’.

Much to our surprise, he was able to get us qualified and we are finally in our long awaited home. He is our ‘Miracle Worker’.

We are so thankful for Ron and Ideal and all they’ve done. If you need a home, Ron and Ideal are your team!

I would like to express how much I enjoyed working with Marsha Bursey-Ford and Jason Lockwood on my new home. Marsha went out of her way to help with my financing and to help me choose the items and colors in my home. I called her several times and she always returned my calls and was very accommodating. Jason did likewise. I never had to wait long to hear from him if he was busy on my initial call. I would recommend to friends and family both of them as a team.

I am now enjoying my new home and am confident that if any questions or problems should arise they will be addressed in a timely manner.

We were downsizing when we built our custom Bel Aire in Ideal’s Paths of Deerfield area in Warsaw in 2008. The process went smoothly and we were very impressed with the craftsmanship of the various teams that worked on our home. We love our villa at The Paths of Deerfield. It’s a very nice neighborhood and so convenient to everything like shopping and eating but you feel like you are in the country with our woods and watching the deer and the birds from our patio. The quality of our place is exceptional too. We are happy with everything. Anytime we have had to have Ideal to fix something it was addressed immediately or as soon as possible. Ideal is a good company to deal with and also help you design your home.

Our family has been working with Bursey Consultants, Inc. and Ideal Suburban Homes for over a year fixing our credit so that we could buy a home.

Our family has been through, and is currently dealing with, multiple health conditions while living on a fixed income and if it was not for Marsha Bursey-Ford at Bursey Consultants, Inc. and Ron Selking at Ideal we would have never had the opportunity to get into a new home.
