WCLA Graduates

We are proud to share that three of our staff have successfully graduated from the Wells County Leadership Academy. The graduates are Construction Office Associate Abbi Smith, Field Superintendant Matthew Scott, Purchaser and Estimator Nick Koons

The WCLA has been around since 2008 in collaboration with Huntington University Foundation's Center for Leadership Studies.  It helps round out individuals entering the workforce and seasoned career professionals through collaborative learning opportunities.

" We looked at some options for continued education for this specific group as Kim, Director of Sales,  and I recognized that the future for Ideal would be bright by preparing Abbi, Matthew, and Nick to play key roles in the future." Jack Johnson, Director of Construction.

We are excited to see the benefits of this course impact our day-to-day operations.   We know the residual effects of applying their newfound knowledge to their areas of influence will contribute to our growth as well.
"We always want to be looking towards the future at Ideal Builders, and we believe these three individuals will be an integral part of that future. " Kim Davis, Director of Sales.

One of the key concepts taught during the program is Habitudes, created by Dr. Tim Elmore of Growing Leaders.  Big Rocks First - a Habitude that helps participants know and practice proper priorities to gain results.  "It has taught me perspective. It’s nice to meet up once a month and learn new things with real-life examples. We all have time to share hardships, good news, promotions, etc."  Matthew Scott, Field Superintendent.

"Becoming a better, well-rounded, and knowledgeable leader is how to be successful, not only professionally with our careers but also in our personal lives at home with our family and friends."  Nick Koons, Estimator and Purchaser.

Congratulations to Abbi, Matthew, and Nick for their dedication and willingness to embrace the opportunity.
