Expansion planned for Bluffton, IN

There is no doubt about it, Wells County is growing. The community has seen a growth of nearly 4% since the 2010 Census numbers were published. If you know anyone in the market for a home, you know it's competitive out there, and closing windows are getting shorter and shorter. We are happy to announce that we will be breaking ground on 13 + acres South of Greenfield Farms in Bluffton, come spring (weather permitting).
In the late '90s, Ideal developed farmland right off Hoosier Highway on the south end of Bluffton and named it Greenfield Farms. The name was inspired by the bountiful fields growing, blanketing the acreage green. To this day, a barn stands erect baring the name Greenfield Farms.

For many in the area who travel Hoosier Highway southbound, it is a pathway to Poneto or State Road 218. For some, it's the 'back way' to get to nearby employers, like; Kroger's distribution center- Peytons Northern, or Valero Renewable Fuels.

During the presentation of the plans to the Wells County Area Planning Commission, Bluffton Mayor John Whicker participated in the public comment section expressing the city’s support for what he called a “much-needed project.” Families continue to gravitate and build South of town because they either value the tranquility or prefer being closer to the Bluffton Harrison Metropolitan School district. Bluffton South is primed to be a top location for residential growth.

For us at Ideal, it has become apparent that we have an opportunity to meet demand. For this reason, we have chosen to break ground on land just south of our Greenfield Farms subdivision. Weather permitting, we anticipate getting started in summer. Once complete, we'll be able to offer more square footage in single-family homes, detached villas, and 3-bay garage options. The expansion opens up an opportunity to invite the community to be involved. How? We are seeking public input to help us name this brand-new community. Entries will be accepted through the end of June and entered into a drawing to win a grand prize valued at $500.
